How many times have you spent ages hunting through your email inbox to find the latest message about an order? Do you find yourself asking questions like, “Did I approve to ship it late? Did I know my supplier was going to run out of materials before the run? Can I add another 1,500 pieces?” The good news? There’s a more straightforward approach to managing supplier communications.
The In-Built Communications Feature in PEAK International Order Management tracks precisely these kinds of details. From the time the order is received in the system with a date stamp recording its arrival until it is delivered at its destination, details are updated in the In-Built Communications Feature on the Order page.
Direct dialogue between you and your supplier can occur in the In-Built Communications Feature and remains visible for any user with access. This allows the buyers or others to converse directly with the shipper, and the transportation team will have a view of the conversation. The timestamp also captures any system event, not just dialogue on the order, including the date the order was uploaded, when the supplier received, confirmed or booked it until it arrives.
This feature proves to be especially helpful as an audit trail. For example, suppose a supplier is consistently shipping late or leaving it until the last minute to say they can’t make the deadline. In that case, chargeback penalties are easier to impose with system timestamped backup. At the other end of the spectrum, maybe you have an incentive if shipments are booked early, the supplier gets paid earlier.
Either way, an objective, neutral summary of all events is at your fingertips in PEAK International. You can be notified by email of new comments or actions that need your approval. Business rules dictate notifications, and you have time to react and make changes as necessary to keep your supply chain on track. We help streamline the process, providing you with total transparency and efficiency.
